Tuesday prayer of Holy Week

O Jesus, who came to Your own and Your own did not receive You, here we are today receiving You as King over our hearts.
 

We confess that You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

We do not want to be like those who heard Your teachings, marveled, then walked away with hardened hearts.

Instead, we want to bear fruit—thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.

Grant us to be like the wise virgins who stayed awake and awaited Your coming.

Do not let the spirit of hypocrisy, which You exposed in the chief priests and Pharisees, dwell in us.

Purify our hearts from within, so that our lives may be genuine, not just an outward show.

Help us to live each day as if it were our last, in reverence and love for You.
