prayer inspired by Jesus' appearance to the disciples in the upper room

Lord of Peace, who appeared to Your disciples in the Upper Room, you entered though the doors were locked, you breathed Your Spirit upon them, and cast away their fear and doubt, granting them the true peace the world cannot give.
 

Risen Jesus, come into the upper room of my heart, close every door of fear within me, and breathe Your Holy Spirit into my soul, that I may live in the hope of Your resurrection.

Light of the Resurrection, fill my life with Your presence, and remind me always that You are alive, that You come to me even when I am surrounded by worry or despair.

My Lord and my God, ss Thomas proclaimed in faith, today I too declare with the whole Church :

"My Lord and my God!"

I believe, Lord—help my unbelief.

Establish me in Your peace, and make me a witness to Your resurrection, carrying Your joy and hope to those around me, proclaiming that You are alive forever.
