Lenten Prayer

My Lord and my God, In this holy season of Lent, i come to You with a contrite and repentant heart.

Teach me to fast not only from food, but from all evil and selfish thoughts.

Purify me from within and cleanse me with the water of Your Word.

Help me see You in the faces of the suffering and serve You in the poor and needy.

Strengthen me on the path of repentance and fill my heart with the hope of the Resurrection.

Grant me the grace to carry my cross daily and follow You faithfully.

To You be the glory forever.
