A Prayer Inspired by Lent

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, in this holy season of Lent, we come before You with contrite and humble hearts.
 

We ask You to cleanse our souls and break the chains of sin, so we may draw closer to Your divine light.

Teach us, O Lord, to fast not only from food but from all that separates us from You—selfishness, pride, anger, resentment, and the distractions of the world.

Fill our hearts with Your love, grant us the strength to carry our cross with joy, and lead us on the path to Your glorious resurrection.

Bless our fasting, our prayers, and our deeds, that they may bring glory to Your holy name.
